Erectile Dysfunction – Definition
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is defined as a persistent or ongoing problem getting an erection, or keeping the erection for long enough to complete satisfactory sexual activity. It is classified as organic erectile dysfunction or psychogenic erectile dysfunction.
Erectile Dysfunction Causes
Vascular disease is the most common cause of erectile dysfunction. Cardiovascular disease shares common risk factors with ED. Other causes include neurological disorders, inflammatory conditions, psychiatric and psychological conditions, mechanical deformities, trauma, prescription and recreational drugs and endocrine disorders.
